APPLICATION OF TOOLS AND SCALES IN POPULATION-BASED SURVEYS  

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEYS

Use of the TQ for screening large populations (some examples)

In a two-stage survey community workers were trained in Bhutan by Professor Khan and her team to train them on screening tools and procedures; and professionals (mainly primary school teachers) were trained by Bhutanese professionals to assess children using tools and procedures that six of them received (ie, Professor of Pediatrics, Professor of Psychiatry, Head of Special Education, Head of Physiotherapy, a UNICEF Bhutan representative)  in a training program at the CNC, BPF, in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2009.  

Survey of  Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Bangladesh, 2013: In 2013 a team of professionals lead by Professor Makhduma Nargis and Professor Naila Zaman Khan assisted the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of Bangladesh, to conduct a nation-wide survey of Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Autism. Tools, scales and procedures for the survey were provided by BPF, facilitated by Professor Khan.
