Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation - BPF

Institute for Special Education

Bangladesh Institute of Special Education was established in the year 1998 under the aegis of Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation and affiliated with the National University. The institute is committed to provide high quality education with the objective of producing highly skilled teachers responsive to the needs of the children with different types of disability and prepare them for meeting the challenges of living in the society with honor and dignity.

Clinical Neurosciences Center

Clinical Neurosciences Center

The Clinical Neurosciences Center (CNC) is a wing of the BPF where research and related clinical work is conducted for the benefit of children with disabilities and disadvantages, their families and their communities

That children with disabilities and disadvantaged children are integrated into mainstream societies with equal rights, opportunities, and dignity.

Community Based Rehabilitation

Community Based Rehabilitation

The scientific authenticity of the Distance Training Program (DTPP) has been proved though a Randomized control trail study (McConachie et al 2000, Khan et al, 1998, Mobarak et al 2000). The study has confirmed the positive outcome of the training and reflected some negative aspects, which contributed to the development of additional program (CBR) and services and new strategies for service delivery to the young children with disability

Ongoing Community Projects

Despite significant progress in access to primary education, 4 million school going age children including children with disabilities are still out of school in Bangladesh. This indicates that the education system in Bangladesh is not ensuring the provision of Right to Education to all children. Children with disabilities (CWDs) are the most vulnerable amongst the disadvantaged groups of children in Bangladesh.

Employment

In 2008 the Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation and Job Placement Ltd commenced a zero interest micro-credit project. The project focused on providing cattle for milk production for the most marginalized families. One prime difference is that the cattle would belong to the children with a disability and their mothers. Their mothers are responsible for the care and keep it up and refund the initial loan with no interest and thus. Gradually the money is rolling within the hard core poor children.
